Drinking water at Highwind Lake is a hot topic! All of our tap water at Highwind is sourced directly from the lake. The pumps are at the bottom of the lake, far from shore and human activity.
Our lake is tested regularly and the recommendation has been that all water be boiled before consumption. We also sell bottled water at the store for those who do not want to boil water all the time. For those who are at the lake all summer like ourselves, we simply drink directly from the tap and have never had any issues but this is at each individuals own discretion.
